Seatek

Seatek was founded by Alan Blunt in 1982 in Culver City, California. Alan was always looking for ways to improve mast design and gain the winning edge developing racing and cruising aluminum masts. The company moved to San Pedro and then on to Wilmington which is the current location of the business.

I, Allan Lindsay, purchased the business in 2009. I am originally from New Zealand and have been around the water and boating scene for much of my life which has ultimately led me to the rigging industry. Starting in the US as a boat captain and moving into racing yacht management has facilitated my meeting of some of the marine industry’s main suppliers and people.

Seatek is located in an 8,000 square foot industrial building, and it includes a full rigging shop for rod, wire, and running rigging, a fabrication shop, an 80’ paint booth, and a large assembly area. We have the ability to transport up to 100’ masts on custom built mast trailers to our facility to perform the needed work, which allows us to do the majority of work in-house.
